  • Ecanes trio

Ecanes Trio, Entroterre Festival August 31, 9.15 pm Entroterre Festival Ecanés Trio Ecanés is Giovanni Seneca's new musical project. His guitars guide us on a path that blends the classical tradition with the popular one. In the compositions we find references and citations that come from different geographical and musical areas: from the Balkans to southern Italy from baroque music to contemporary sounds . Ecanés is an anagram and with the same path the songs are exchanged with respect to the sources of inspiration. The use of different types of guitars (classical, swing and flamenco) enhances the nuances of each composition. Of particular interest is the use of the battente guitar, typical of the southern Italian tradition since the 14th century. The sound of this ancient instrument is unmistakable and is diametrically opposite to that of normal guitars and is more like a harpsichord or a saz. It is still widely used in traditional music, but in this cd through the compositions of Seneca it arrives at new sounds that enhance its ancient and popular soul at the same time. The percussion, the double bass are a counterpoint to this aesthetic journey. The ancient and Mediterranean timbres such as those of the riq, darbuka or frame drums accompany the listener on this journey through time and cultures, recreating a unique and enveloping soundscape. • Un ritratto di Isabella Leonarda

Isabella Leonarda, Cappella Artemisia August 5th, 9.15 pm Artemisia Chapel A PORTRAIT OF ISABELLA LEONARDA conventual music of the '600 Sister Isabella Leonarda (6 September 1620 - 25 February 1704), " the Novara muse ", she was the most prolific of all the seventeenth-century composers, both inside and outside the convent walls. She entered the college of S. Orsola at sixteen and remained there for 68 years, serving the monastery as vicar mother, superior and councilor. He published as many as 20 collections of motets and other works, nearly 200 compositions that include practically every genre of sacred music of his time: Masses, Vespers, motets in Latin and Italian for 1-4 voices with and without violins, and a collection of sonatas for 1 and 2 violins, the only complete collection of instrumental music of the time composed by an Italian woman. The Artemisia Chapel would like to celebrate this exceptional woman, whose vast production remains largely and unfairly unknown. Cappella Artemisia is an ensemble of voices and instruments dedicated to the music of the Italian female monasteries of the 16th and 17th centuries . The repertoire includes both unknown works composed by the nuns themselves, and pieces written by better known composers, but proposed, often for the first time, in their original way, that is, without male voices. The musicians are all specialized and established performers in the field of early music. They regularly collaborate with other ensembles such as Il Concerto Italiano , Accademia Bizantina , La Venexiana , L'arte dell'Arco , Mala punica , La Reverdie , La Risonanza , Cantar far , ModoAntiquo , L 'Accademia Strumentale and others. Since 1991, the ensemble has had flattering results, both for the rarity and originality of its repertoire, and for the high quality of its performances. She has been invited to the most prestigious early music festivals in Europe and North America. In 2018 he recorded his 9th CD: The Motets of the Pavese nun Bianca Maria Meda (1619). The name of Cappella Artemisia is inspired by the painter Artemisia Gentileschi, a significant figure in seventeenth-century Italy whose artistic value is finally beginning to earn the recognition it deserves. 24 AGOSTO 2025 ATTI SONORI THE CARTOON BARBER The Barber of Seville for Manga music and drawings Il Barbiere a Fumetti was born from a musical idea: Vincenzo Gambaro's suite on the music of Rossini's Opera, arranged for wind orchestra. In this musical version, Maestro Giocoli decided to combine the intricate story of Rosina , told by the unpublished drawings of the Japanese mangaka Tsukishiro Yūko. Two apparently distant languages, united however by the story and the expressiveness. The opera plunges into the contemporaneity of Japanese comics, the immediacy of the visual art is intertwined with the sound, giving back a new and original version of the work that can also speak to a young and contemporary audience. The new arrangements that ATTI SONORI has produced for chamber orchestra have given life to a new score for 10 real parts , in which the work is stripped of the recitative parts and stages only the music, while the comics are projected onto a backdrop. scenographic and tell the story through the suggestion of the images. • Parlando d'amore

Un incontro tra prosa e musical. Con Francesca Taverni, Antonello Angiolillo e Luca Giacomelli Ferrarini 7 and 8 April, 9 pm TALKING ABOUT LOVE What remains "Ungaretti, Montale, Pasolini, Quasimodo, Mina, Endrigo, Tenco, Leopardi and many others ... Authors and performers who have illuminated our lives and our artistic path: an intimate journey, through songs and words and poems and memories, retracing the art of so many excellences, so as not to forget everything they left us, because what remains is special, because the legacy they left us is a good that must be celebrated and remembered, something that inspires us and helps us to become or create, maybe one day, what will remain. Not to forget that the heart and soul and the talent of an artist must be nourished with beautiful words, beautiful music and beautiful thoughts. I close with the words of Tiziano Terzani that explain what I feel, believe in and for which I am grateful: ʽArt, the real one, the one that comes from the soul, is so important in our life. Art comforts us, lifts us up, art orients us. Art heals us. We are not just what we eat and the air we breathe. We are also the stories we heard, the fairy tales we fell asleep with as children, the books we read, the music we listened to and the emotions that a painting, a statue, a poem gave us. , Tiziano Terzani) ".
