    Allargo già le braccia 24 and 25 July, 9.30 pm | Courtyard of the Baraccano Theater in case of rain 26 July I ALREADY WIDEN MY ARMS the secret essence of unspoken things concert for musical ensemble, narrator and images ELSA and OTTORINO RESPIGHI. Letters and Double Quartet Music and musical gesture are the body on stage. Letters, documents and images are essential traces of Elsa and Ottorino Respighi's life. (Sandra Cavallini) My letters to Ottorino and hers to me trace the first period of our life together. After the wedding, the correspondence between us is very little, because in the eighteen years of life together we were only separated for a few days. (Elsa Olivieri Sangiacomo) A theatrical adaptation of the letters that Respighi exchanged with his wife Elsa Olivieri before their marriage was woven on the music of Ottorino Respighi's "Doppio Quartetto". These are letters that Elsa herself has collected in a volume, which she simply titled "Ottorino Respighi". A very precious instrument will enrich the musical performance: the violinist Roberto Noferini will play the violin that belonged to Respighi , a violin of prestigious and ancient Bolognese lutherie, built around 1730. by the luthier Florenus Guidantus (1687-1760). The scenographic images will help to discover a fragment of the life of this great Bolognese musician and composer, who, for his genius, deserves to be rediscovered by his city to which he was very attached. Respighi is deeply and intimately linked to the city of Bologna and lives it with very strong nostalgia every time he moves away from it. In fact, he settled in Rome in 1913, winning the competition for the Chair of Composition and Fugue at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia, but his countless journeys can already be counted from his youth in via Castagnoli 2 (now Largo Respighi - BO), starting from the small room used as a study, from the fir bookcase built with his own hands, from the collection of vocabularies in different languages, with a particular curiosity for the less known ones. The vocabularies are followed by atlases and hours spent studying a geographical map. “ Those were, those were the first trips, the most beautiful I've ever done around the world ”. It is not always easy to play a dreamer. The event is part of the RESPIGHI project .     SOUND ACTS 22 and 23 February, matinee for schools THE CARTOON BARBER "The Barber of Seville" told through music, images, animations and text The Count d'Almaviva wants to marry the beautiful Rosina and for this he gets help from Figaro , the barber-factotum who becomes the director of all the actions. Figaro resorts to tricks and disguises; for him, success in the "Rosina operation" will lead to an increase in prestige and economic well-being. But Rosina is kept segregated at home by her old guardian, Don Bartolo , from whom she wants to escape and, if she wants to marry Almaviva, she must collaborate in the intrigues, emancipating herself from the role of house and church girl. Thus begins a process of unmasking false values and abandoning current morality. The conclusion with the happy ending will be Bartolo's surrender and the triumph of love. Ha studiato al Conservatorio ”Tito Schipa” di Lecce sotto la guida di Luigi Bisanti, diplomandosi a 16 anni col massimo dei voti e la lode. Si è perfezionato all'Accademia di Imola con Persichilli, Mercelli e Cambursano, a Firenze con Marasco e al “Conservatoire Superieure de Musique” di Ginevra con Jacques Zoon.Considerato uno dei più brillanti flautisti della sua generazione, ha ottenuto premi nei maggiori concorsi flautistici internazionali: “Francesco Cilea” di Palmi, “Leonardo De Lorenzo” di Viggiano, Yamaha Music Foundation di Milano, “Emanuele Krakamp” di Napoli, “Pellegrini” di Cagliari, il XXXVIII Concorso Internazionale di Budapest e il Primo Concorso Flautistico Internazionale “Maxence Larrieu” a Nizza. Nel 2002 è stato scelto da Riccardo Muti come primo flauto dell’Orchestra Giovanile “Luigi Cherubini”, da lui creata. Nel 2003, a soli 20 anni, ha ottenuto il posto di primo flauto nell’Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino diretta da Gianandrea Noseda. E’ stato invitato, in qualità di primo flauto ospite, dalle orchestre: Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Opera di Roma, Stuttgart Philharmoniker, Hungarian National Philharmonic, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Symphonica Toscanini diretta da Lorin Maazel, effettuando tournée in Europa, U.S.A., Giappone, Cina e Israele. Ha effettuato inoltre, come solista e camerista, concerti in numerosi festivals italiani ed internazionali: Falaut Festival, Flautissimo, NFA negli Stati Uniti, Belgrade Flute Festival, German Flute Festival a Freiburg... Nel 2018 è stato invitato nell’Orchestra del Festival diLucerna diretta da Riccardo Chailly. Ha registrato la Sonata op.115 di Prokofiev per i CD della rivista musicale Syrinx e un disco con opere per flauto e pianoforte di Casella, Feld, Liebermann e Martinu, allegato alla rivista italiana del flauto FaLaUt. Ha inciso inoltre per Amadeus brani di Carulli e Giuliani incollaborazione col chitarrista Giulio Tampalini e per Warner Music con l’ottetto della Scala.     Il Teatro della gente Il Teatro della Gente Passeggiando fra i Portici di Piazza Maggiore e Piazza San Domenico passeggiata e concerto 25 giugno 2022 The ATTI SONORI musical theater review returns in the summer of 2021 with the Baraccano Orchestra and a series of hospitality, the result of collaboration with other partners. The season is part of Bologna Summer 2021 , the program of activities promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Bologna and the Metropolitan City of Bologna - Tourist Destination. The review will consist of various concerts, shows, exhibitions and art meetings. From the Kafka project, Lettere a Milena , dedicated to Kafka, consisting of the homonymous show and the exhibition by the artist Andrea Ballardini, set up in the foyer of the Teatro del Baraccano, to the music of the 20th century with the ensemble FontanaMIX; from Bach with Entroterre Festival to contemporary dance with the DROP project. But the main protagonist of the summer season will be the focus dedicated to the Bolognese composer Ottorino Respighi: RESPIGHI project . Guided tours, concerts, theatrical concerts, dance, art meetings, these are the many activities that will animate our tribute to Respighi in the courtyard of the Baraccano Theater and in the Certosa, thanks to the collaboration with the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Mirarte cooperative. To all this will be added the Respighi REC , a collateral project, supported by Bologna, UNESCO Creative City of Music , which will expand the possibilities of use of the Respighi project , through the recording of concerts and the production of multimedia files, videos, photos, interviews. and a printed publication.     Progetti formativi per le scuole 2022 AIDA la musica danza nella sabbia riduzione dell’Opera di Giuseppe Verdi per ensemble, voce recitante e luci 25 e 26 novembre 2022, matinée La monumentale opera AIDA , nella versione in musica dell’Orchestra del Baraccano , non chiede forzature spettacolari in scena, né spazi colossali o grandiosità scenografiche. Ecco che anche gli elefanti potrebbero smettere di marciare, lasciando spazio stupiti e commossi al dramma umano tra vinti e vincitori , in guerra e in amore. Ritroviamo il soffocante gigantismo voluto da Giuseppe Verdi e l’effetto schiacciante sull’anima dei giovani protagonisti, nell’originale riduzione e nell’arrangiamento per organico strumentale a dieci parti reali, nello stile impetuoso del direttore Giambattista Giocoli , nei versi detti e sussurrati da Sandra Cavallini , nella voluta irregolarità metrica del libretto di Antonio Ghislanzoni . Accenti lirici, tratti trionfali e improvvise sospensioni svelano le delicate profondità dell’opera. Una riduzione e arrangiamento che cercheranno, pur senza i cantanti, di restituire la potenza drammaturgia e sinfonica di quest’Opera e di far arrivare la sua profonda intimità di sentimenti e musicalità, oltre ai momenti maestosi e grandiosi ispirati dalla magnificenza della civiltà egizia. Contrariamente alla tradizione predominante, che l’ha resa famosa principalmente per lo sfarzo delle scenografie, si vuole presentare quindi una lettura innovativa, incentrata sulla profonda intimità di sentimenti e riflessioni sulle dinamiche sociali.     Scheda R.A.D. Respighi Ancient Dances RAD Respighi Ancient Dances DNA and Orchestra del Baraccano approach Ottorino Respighi's Suites with the intention of giving new life to tradition, transfiguring it through the contemporary body, which re-welcomes the ancient to feed on it, recognizes its roots and evolves towards the present. Thus emerges the urgency to restore visibility to the realities that have always existed within each of us, but who have not yet found their place and surfacing time. Per eludere il rischio di rendere la visione ridondante ho deciso di sfruttare il forte contrasto creato tra il linguaggio contemporaneo ed essenziale di DNA e l’aspetto rinascimentale della composizione musicale. Il processo è stato quello di rendere estremamente musicale il gesto e la costruzione coreografica, in modo che si adagiasse con grande accondiscendenza sulla partitura musicale e il suo riallestimento, senza appesantirlo, ma, al contrario, enfatizzandone la leggerezza e la freschezza. La coreografia, che doveva essere la prima immagine restituita al pubblico, ha creato il contesto fertile affinché i forti colori del suono potessero esprimere al meglio la caratterizzazione del paesaggio. Il risultato è stato quello di regalare al pubblico un intreccio di percezioni, create dall’intenso dialogo tra gesto e suono, in grado di tessere una conversazione spigliata, elegante ed intrigante. I tre danzatori in scena hanno dato vita ad un nodo infinito, che ha innescato un flusso persistente di dinamiche morbide ed effimere. Elisa Pagani
