  • Ombre Lunghe: Seth Graham & Jay Glass Dubs

June 9, 9 pm LONG SHADOWS Seth Graham & Jay Glass Dubs After the last edition last December, Long Shadows reopens the year with 2 concerts in the Teatro del Baraccano. Seth Graham is an American artist, composer and co-founder of Orange Milk Records . His latest work Gasp it is a sort of digital blob of classical music, within which the limits of classical structure and modern technology are tested. Through a dense digital synthesis he creates images that are now lively and colorful, now sad and gloomy, thus placing his own imprint in the area of general vulnerability. Dimitris Papadatos (in art Jay Glass Dubs ) conceals his best card in change. Exploded in 2016 with the Dancehall Mixtape release (Bokeh Versions) Dimitris assimilates, modifies, changes and reassembles the basic elements of the dancehall of his personal collection. In a few years this typical change-rearrange approach led him to final maturity: with the debut album Epitaph , gets rid of the “dub” ending at the end of each title and is reborn into something completely new. Single ticket € 10 Buy tickets Ombre_Lunghe_9-06-19

  • Histoire du soldat

HISTOIRE DU SOLDAT SOUND ACTS March 29, 9 pm at the Duse Theater music by Igor Stravinskij, text by CF Ramuz ACTI SONORI stages the “poor” Opera that Igor Stranvinsky composed in 1918, against the sumptuous canons of traditional opera. The story is taken from the Russian fairytale tradition and has as its protagonist a soldier, an emblematic victim of the world conflict of the Great War. The soldier's story it concerns humanity as a whole and, in particular, the issue of the impossibility of man to escape his own destiny. Histoire du Soldat | by Gianluca Cheli This work was initially conceived as a work for puppets: a simple and immediate artistic product, with a strong symbolic component. Here the graphic gesture is chosen as a marionette sign to reveal the dark aftertaste of the ironic atmospheres, musically outlined by Stravinskij in his chamber work. Elements that return in the expressive sign of the most submerged plane of the Histoire du Soldat: the melancholy, and all in all a bit funny, feeling of predetermination, combined with the creative madness of Russian fairy tales, from which the work takes its cue.
